Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How early should I send my child to the bus stop?
A: Children should be waiting at the bus stop 10 minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time. The My Stop App is a helpful resource for parents who would like to track our bus/van pick-up and drop-off times.
Q: Should I call the bus yard when my child will not be taking the bus or van?
A: Yes. Please let our staff know so that the vehicle will not stop and wait for your child.
Q: Why don't your vehicles turn right on red?
A: Although it is not the law, the Department of Motor Vehicles recommends that school buses and student vehicles do not turn right on red. Many accidents have resulted from this practice.
Q: When school is delayed, when will my child be picked-up?
A: Glastonbury Public Schools has a standard 2 hour delay for inclement weather. Please refer to the Emergency School Closings page for a list of school start times. Just add 2 hours to your normal pick-up time.
