Open Choice Program

The Open Choice Program brings thousands of students from Hartford to surrounding suburbs to attend school. Many students in the program spend all twelve years of schooling the in same suburban district. Glastonbury has participated in the program throughout the years, and since 1995 has enrolled students from the program in Buttonball Lane School, Gideon Welles School, Smith Middle School and Glastonbury High School. In the 2007-08 school year, Choice students began attending the new Nayaug Elementary School.

Our community and our students are enriched by our participation in the Choice Program and our engagement with our many linguistically and culturally diverse families and students. To thrive in today’s global world, our students must embrace diversity and understand multicultural perspectives.
