The Board of Education is currently considering a plan to make use of Eastbury School when it closes in 2018. Several district special education programs, including the LINKS Academy, post-graduate programs, and special education preschool program would be relocated to the Eastbury building. The district's Pupil Services/Special Education offices would also move to Eastbury. There are numerous educational and financial benefits to centralizing these special education programs and providing room for them to expand. In addition, the building would house a weight room for athletics training of students across the district. The Board encourages the community to learn more by reviewing the Eastbury School Utilization report. The plan is likely to be discussed and voted upon during upcoming Board of Education meetings.
