At the January 11th Board of Education meeting, the Board voted to adopt a $102,122,911 education budget for the 2016-17 school year. This represents a 2.89% increase over the current year's budget. The Superintendent and the Chairman of the Board of Education presented this budget at the Annual Town Meeting on January 28th. Over the coming weeks the Board will meet with the Board of Finance and the Town Council to discuss the education budget. The Town Council will vote on the final budget later in March (tentatively scheduled for March 22nd at 7 pm). The Board welcomes and encourages citizen input on its budget.
