At the January 8th Board of Education meeting, the Board voted to adopt a $105,666,982 million education budget for the 2018-19 school year. This is an increase of 2.2% to the current operating budget. It assumes that $2.5 million of state funding will soon be restored (as planned) to the current budget. On February 8th the Board of Finance recommended an $800,000 cut to the education budget for next year. The Town Council will hold a final budget hearing on March 21st at 7 pm in Town Hall Town Council Chambers. Action will be continued to the Tuesday, March 27th regular Council Meeting. The Board of Education welcomes and encourages citizen input on its budget.
