On Tuesday, July 12, 2016 the Glastonbury Town Council decided (in a 5 to 4 vote) not to send the issue of air conditioning Gideon Welles, Buttonball Lane Elementary, Hebron Avenue Elementary, Hopewell Elementary, and Naubuc Elementary schools to public referendum this November. Our Board of Education and administration believe air conditioning our schools is necessary in order to provide an appropriate learning environment for our students and working environment for our staff. It remains a top priority for us and we will continue to support a future opportunity for citizens to vote on this important issue. More information on air conditioning our schools can be found on the BOE Reports page.
